Local Testing Sites

January 6th was the last day of free COVID-19 testing at the 19th Ward Office. We apologize for this inconvenience. We have compiled a list of local testing sites.

PLEASE READ: COVID Testing Sites Information

As the Omicron variant continues to spread, Chicago’s Business Affairs and Consumer Protection (BACP) has received an increasing number of inquiries regarding pop-up testing sites from residents and businesses. I am writing you to provide you with some helpful information on these sites and how issues and concerns regarding their operation may be reported.

As background, BACP does not license or regulate COVID-19 testing operations. Furthermore, the Chicago Department of Public Health does not oversee or regulate such testing operators. Healthcare providers and laboratories are regulated by state entities. Please visit https://dph.illinois.gov/.

The office of Illinois Attorney General, Kwame Raoul, urges residents to exercise caution before visiting any testing site.  It is recommended that residents first try to utilize a State-sponsored testing site. Illinois community-based testing sites can be found by visiting: Testing (illinois.gov). For information on COVID-19 testing in Chicago, visit www.Chicago.gov/covidtesting.

As it is the State, rather than BACP or the City that regulates COVID-19 testing sites, complaints related to COVID-19 testing sites may be filed with Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul’s Office at Illinois Attorney General Home Page (ilag.gov).

Additionally, the Illinois Attorney General provided further information on COVID-19 testing in a January 11, 2022 press release, available here: Illinois Attorney General – ***CONSUMER ALERT*** ATTORNEY GENERAL RAOUL ENCOURAGES ILLINOIS RESIDENTS TO BE CAUTIOUS OF POP-UP COVID TESTING SITES
