The 13th Annual Beverly Hills Turkey Trot 5K Run and Family Walk return’s on Saturday, November 27th, offering participants the opportunity to walk or run the beautiful tree-lined streets of the 19th Ward’s historic North Beverly neighborhood. The race kicks off at 9:00 am at 9201 S. Hamilton Avenue. More than 2,000 participants are expected to take part in the Beverly Hills Turkey Trot 5K which has been an annual Thanksgiving weekend tradition for families for over a decade. Runners and walkers of all ages and skill levels are invited to join this fun event and burn off some Thanksgiving calories.

This year’s Turkey Trot includes a 5K run or walk, an untimed Family Walk (limit 4), or team registration.

NOTE: All participants in the 5K run or walk who register by November 1st are guaranteed a hooded sweatshirt, then a race long-sleeve shirt will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis after November 1st.


All participants will receive a goodie bag and light post-race refreshments.

The 5K is chip-timed on a CARA certified 5K course while the family walk is untimed. Runners will be divided by age and gender, according to CARA recommended guidelines, with awards given to each age group. All participants will receive a long-sleeved race shirt and a good bag.

On the morning of the Turkey Trot 5K, the 19th Ward and Original Pancake House – Beverly will host a pancake breakfast immediately following the race in the gym of Christ the King. The cost is $5 per person or $25 per family.

Proceeds will benefit the 19th Ward Youth & Community Foundation and the John McNicholas Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.

5K Run Adult: $35 until 5pm on Nov. 26th, then $40 on Nov. 27th
5K Run Youth (age 19 or younger): $30 until 5pm on Nov. 26th, then $35 on Nov. 27th
5K Walk Individual: $35 until 5pm on Nov. 26th, then $40 on Nov. 27th
5K Walk Family (limit 4 shirts): $80 until 5 pm on Nov. 26th, then $85 on Nov. 27th

The course leads runners and walkers through the tree-lined streets of historic North Beverly. The course is CARA certified.

The Turkey Trot starts at 9:00 am at 9200 and S Hamilton. The City of Chicago requests that all vehicles on the course must be off the street by 8:00 am as a matter of public safety.  The streets will re-open at 10:00 am.  The race course is bounded by Pleasant Avenue, Leavitt Street, 88th Street and 94th Street. We will have course marshals and police officers stationed along the race course as well.

Street parking is available off of the course.

The 5K will be bib tagged and timed by Lakeshore Athletic Services. Only the 5K runners will receive a bib and be timed.

Age Groups for Awards Ceremony
Only 5K runners will be timed and be eligible for a medal.
The age groups are 8 & Under, 1-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & Over.

Gear Check
Gear check will be available the morning of the race from 8:00 am until 10:30 am.

Pancake Breakfast
The 19th Ward will host a pancake breakfast after the race. The cost is $5 per person or $25 per family and tickets can be bought at the door. Breakfast will be in the gym at Christ the King. Breakfast included coffee, orange juice, pancakes, and sausage.
