5K Run or Walk, Team Registration, Untimed Family Walk

The 11th annual Beverly Hills Turkey Trot 5K Run and Family Walk, presented by CIBC, returns on Saturday, November 30th, offering participants the opportunity to walk or run the beautiful tree-lined streets of the historic North Beverly neighborhood. The race kicks off at 9:00am at 9201 S. Hamilton Ave.  Proceeds from this year’s 5K will once again benefit the John McNicholas Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and the 19th Ward Youth Foundation.

Individual registration is available for $35 per person or $75 for the family walk.  Children under age 19 can register for $30.   Please note, register by November 1st to receive a hooded sweatshirt at no additional cost.

More than 2,000 participants are expected to take part in the Beverly Hills Turkey Trot 5K, which has been an annual Thanksgiving weekend tradition for families with children of all ages, for over a decade.  Runners and walkers of all ages and skill levels are invited to join this fun event and burn off some Thanksgiving calories.

The 5K will be chip-timed on a CARA certified 5K course, while the family walk will be untimed. Runners will be divided by age and gender according to CARA recommended guidelines, with awards given for each age group. All participants will receive a long-sleeved race t-shirt and a goody bag.

On the morning of the Turkey Trot, the 19th Ward and Original Pancake House (Beverly), will host a pancake breakfast immediately following the race. Admission is $5 per person; or $25 for a family.


Registration Fee

5K Run Individual: $35 until race day, then $40
5K Youth Individual (age 19 or younger): $30 until race day, then $35
5K Untimed Walk Individual: $35 until race day, then $40
5K Untimed Family Fun Walk (limit 4 sweatshirts): $75 until race day, then $80

Course
The course leads runners and walkers through the tree-lined streets of historic North Beverly. This year we expect over 2,000 participants with spectators lining the race route. The course is CARA certified and will have water stations along the route.


Timing
The 5k will be bib tagged and timed by Lakeshore Athletic Services. Only the 5K runners will receive a bib and be timed.


Age Groups
Only 5K runners will be timed and only the 5K runners will be eligible for a medal.
The age groups are 8 & Under, 1-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & Over.


Parking
The Turkey Trot starts at 9:00 am at 9200 and S Hamilton. The City of Chicago requests that all vehicles on the course must be off the street by 8:00 am as a matter of public safety. The streets will re-open at 10:00 am. The race course is bounded by Pleasant Avenue, Leavitt Street, 88th Street and 94th Street. We will have marshals and police officers stationed along the race course as well.
Street parking is available off of the course.


Gear Check
Gear check will be available the morning of the race from 8:00 am until 10:30 am.

Proceeds benefit the 19th Ward Youth Foundation and The John McNicholas Pediatric Brain Foundation.

Volunteers
If you are interested in volunteering for the Turkey Trot, you may sign up on the registration web site under the Volunteer tab or email our volunteer coordinator, Margie Olsen ([email protected]). We are looking for volunteers who can help before the race by passing out posters, letters to neighbors on the route, or packet pick up dates; we also need help the day of the race with registration, course marshals, pancake breakfast; or after the race with clean up.

Pancake Breakfast
The Original Pancake House – Beverly and  19th Ward will host a pancake breakfast after the race. The cost is $5 per person; or $25 for a family and tickets can be bought at the door.
